Workflow
What is the best time to make edits to the copy?
All text should be edited and proofread prior to sending to the designer. The earlier in the process that edits are made, the less expensive it is to make them. We do allot a certain amount of time for revisions for each job, but once a file has gone to the printer, it costs time and money to make them. Please refer to this flow chart (PDF) as a guide for making changes in the printing workflow.
How do I convey edits to the designer?
Check out our Submitting Edits resource.
What if I have edits that need to be made after the piece has gone to the printer or been published to the web?
Edits may still be made once you receive a proof from the printer, but keep in mind your print delivery schedule may be delayed as a result, and there may be a charge from the designer and/or printer for the edits. Please refer to our Print Workflow guide for when to make certain types of changes.
Images
Can I use any image I find online?
Nope! You should assume you cannot legally use them unless otherwise stated.
What resolution do my images need to be?
Check out our Image Requirements resource.
Printing
How will the files get to the printer?
We will send the print files directly to the printer and maintain communication with them throughout the rest of the process.
Will you take care of choosing a printer?
Yes. There are several printers with whom we have long-term relationships.
Won’t it cost less if I find and choose a printer?
Nope! We don’t resell or mark up the printing. You pay the printer directly. In fact, you might actually save money by using a printer with whom we have a long-term relationship.
May I use a printer I have worked with?
Yes. We are happy to use the printer of your choice.
