Background

The National Committee for Quality Assurance is a private, 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization dedicated to improving health care quality.

Problem

NCQA’s marketing materials had a very boxy design for years. They wanted it to be less boxy, to look softer, but without an entirely new look for their materials.

Solution

We performed a brand refresh by incorporating the boxes with solid colors from their existing brand with curved shapes from their logo into the design. We also kept the colors from their color palette. Over time, we gradually evolved the look so that it used more of the curvier design, conveying a softer look. The curves provide visual motion, which is symbolic of the continuing progress NCQA has made in improving health care quality.
